Positive: Spela was very responsive and helpful. The apartment is in a great location within walking distance of the town centre and attractions, and the views from the roof terrace are amazing. The bus service is extremely good, especially in quite remote parts of the island, and the drivers are incredibly helpful.

Negative: Watch your head when coming down the last flight of stairs if you're over 5'9"! Not unique to Icod de los Vinos - (1) Tenerife is very hilly so be prepared for driving up some very steep hills in towns (we had a manual car and we'd pay the extra for an automatic next time) and (2) if you don't like noise, bring some ear plugs - dogs are more likely to live outdoors in Tenerife than they do in the UK so you're more likely to hear them if they bark at night.
