In summer, in honour of the Virgen del Carmen, Puerto de la Cruz holds one of its most popular festivals among the local population. And in November, the wine cellars are opened and brass and metal jars are dragged through the streets, in a curious Fiesta de San Andrés in which tradition is intermingled with new wine.
